It was a symbol that everyone knew, a symbol that meant strength, hope, and power, one that most people respected and some despised for its clear representation of an elite group – one that Twilight was now a part of. It was the mark of the nine princes, finely embroidered with golden thread. The thing that caught his eye the most, however, that made his heart jolt and a maelstrom of emotions rise through him was on the tunic, on the left breast. There was golden chainmail to go with it, he noticed, examining the fine, tightly woven gold rings lying at the bottom of the pile. A forest green tunic to match his old one, though noticeably less faded, and a simple, but well-made, light grey tunic and trousers to go under it. He had been expecting something like he had been given yesterday, unnecessarily complicated and nondurable, but what he found instead was something akin to his Ordonian wear. The other outfit he didn’t recognise, and he unfolded the pieces of clothing out in front of him to examine them curiously. His heart warmed at the sight of it, thankful that it hadn’t been thrown away to make way for nicer, fancier and more appropriate material considering the requirements for his new life. One of them was the Ordonian garb he had arrived in, clean, ironed and looking in better condition than it had possibly ever been considering he had first been given it as a hand-me-down from Rusl. Please refer to the table in each specific item for data on any given ring. There were two sets of clothes folded on Twilight’s chest of drawers when he woke up the next morning. Rings shown on a gray background were photographed outdoors in cloudy conditions on an 18% gray card. The photographs are intended to show the qualities of the rings, but not their exact size. Regarding Photographs of Rings: Note that photographs show rings of the same material and wire size as the specific product, but not necessarily the same inside diameter. Missing data will be filled in as soon as it is available - if you need a particular measurement, please do not hesitate to drop us an email and we will get it for you! Also, please note that there may be small variations in link dimensions due to variations in wire supply from batch to batch. Please see the table in each ring item for specific data on that ring. We used to classify all wires from 0.045" - 0.051" as 18SWG, but since we now carry stainless steel in both 0.048" and 0.051", we needed to differentiate. For reference, the tolerances of SWG on this site are as follows: Note that the actual measured wire diameter is noted along with the approximate Standard Wire Gauge. In the past, I found that the different scales can cause confusion. Typically, SWG is used for ferrous materials and AWG is used for non-ferrous materials. Please note that due to the phenomenon known as "springback," the actual link inside diameter is typically larger than the mandrel diameter - please see the data for each individual link for the actual link inside diameter as well as the aspect ratio (the ratio of link inside diameter to wire diameter, often abbreviated 'AR') of each link.Īll wire gauges are listed in Standard Wire Gauge for simplicity's sake. The nominal link inside diameter (ID) is the mandrel diameter. Listed link diameters are all inside diameters. Whether you are in the US or overseas, this can save you quite a bit on shipping! We do our best to reduce your shipping costs through the use of USPS flat rate boxes. In pictures of individual links, the link on the left is in the "as cut" condition, while the link on the right is closed to show the quality of the closure when using our links. Ring counts are calculated using the measured density, measured wire diameter, and measured link diameter and have tolerances of +/- 3%. Links are priced by the hundred (so you can get the small quantities you need) with discounts at 300, 500, 1000, and 2500 or more links (3, 5, 10, and 25 or more units of 100) of a given size, material, and color (to give you the best price when working on those large projects). We offer a number of different materials and sizes here, but if you want a material or size that you don't see here, please ask - chances are that we can make it for you. Chainmail made from these rings is a real pleasure to roll through your hands or wear as it will not snag, chafe, or scratch. Following the cutting process, we tumble each batch of rings to remove any errant burrs. These links are cut with a 0.010" (0.25 mm) or thinner saw to ensure that the minimum amount of material is removed from each ring, preserving the shape of the ring while giving a smooth closure. West Coast Chainmail is bringing the same jeweler's saw quality cut links to you that we use in our own products.
